Mahurangi Wastebusters has proudly been running zero waste events, repair cafes, waste minimisation education and training events in north Rodney since 2017.
Our Learning Hub at our upgraded Lawrie Road Community Recycling Centre will be open soon. We welcome bookings from schools for site tours to teach kids how to reduce and recycle waste.
Of course, we're always happy to talk to community groups and offer advice on reducing waste. Please email education@mahurangiwastebusters.nz to make enquiries.

"At our visit, it was clear that Mahurangi Wastebusters is serious about their kaupapa, doing everything possible to promote zero waste living and waste minimisation in a region that otherwise did not have such facilities. The learning experience led by Trish Allen - who has been on a zero-waste journey since the 90’s – and Ewan Briggs, was truly eye-opening."A quote from one of the scholars, sent to us by Dr Leny Woolsey, Executive Director, The Kupe Leadership Scholarship, University of Auckland Business School
