Compost project
Since 2020 we've been making compost
from household food scraps and compostables from local businesses.
You can drop off your food scraps for free at our Recycling Centres (except Lawrie Rd during site upgrade).
Come along for the ride and see how we do it:

Nourish your soil and feed your plants with our living compost!

Our compost is made with beneficial organisms, nutrients and packed with worms to feed your soil and plants.

We use a 12 box composting system from The Carbon Cycle Company to make living compost from locally sourced ingredients.

Ingredients:
Coffee Grinds
Fish skins from
Food scraps
Hops
Mulch
Compostable materials
Seagrass
Oyster shells
Effective Microorganisms (EM) from EMNZ
Biochar activated by EM
Our living compost is matured and ready to nourish your soil and grow your plants!
